Wathco Construction Project Process & Commitment to Ownership

Preconstruction

At Wathco, we believe the preconstruction phase is the foundation of every successful project. This is when our team collaborates closely with the client and architect to review every aspect of the project, including scope, costs, and scheduling. We provide “Value Engineering” solutions that help maintain the integrity of the design while offering cost-effective and practical alternatives. Our goal is to keep the project within budget without compromising the original vision. If you already have a complete design and bid plans, we break down the costs in detail, showing exactly where your budget is allocated and presenting alternative options to support informed decision-making.

Construction

Throughout the construction phase, Wathco ensures that an on-site superintendent is present at all times, regardless of project size. We are committed to hands-on management, with a Wathco representative accompanying every subcontractor or supplier on site. Our project managers maintain open communication with the superintendent, architect, and client, ensuring everyone is updated on project status. We leverage the latest communication tools, including email and digital documentation, to keep information flowing smoothly. Weekly on-site meetings with subcontractors, architects, and engineers are held to promptly address questions and prevent delays. Any client concerns can be discussed and resolved during these meetings.

Safety

Job site safety is a top priority at Wathco, and we are proud of our outstanding safety record. All superintendents are certified in equipment operation, CPR, and the use of specialized tools. We conduct weekly safety meetings with all subcontractors to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Wathco meets or exceeds all state and federal safety requirements, and every project site is equipped with a first aid kit and fire extinguisher. Our proactive approach to safety allows our teams to focus on delivering quality results while minimizing risk.
